Into the Swing of the New Year!

WOW! January just flew by! How come the older we get, the faster the time goes? Or is it just that we don't remember so much of it?
We have Raed and Zi Yang with us now - Raed spent 5 weeks with his family in December & January. Zi Yang comes from China. Interesting times ahead!

Empty Nest

Now we're on our own for a short time - Ben (from China) moved out on his own with another student & Raed (from Saudi Arabia) has gone home for the holidays. We're expecting a new student from China on Dec 31. We may have a one or two short term students over Christmas if their hosts leave town for the holidays. I can't believe how much space I have in this house with everyone gone!

My Kimchi Recipe is Online!

Well now since I've made kimchi a few times & I've got the ingredients & proportions all figured out, I decided to finally put the recipe online - check it out here & make some yourself! I've been told it's quite good. Thanks, Jungyub!

You'll see a lot of different stuff here - I'm not one to stick with one design the whole way through, but I'll try to keep the navigation simple so you don't get lost! I've made a site map to help & I'll try to remember to put my site title on each page so you know you're still at my Island Place. I may put up an 'about me' page one day, but for now, the whole site is sort of about me since it reflects my tastes & ideas. So, browse around. I hope I leave you with a smile!
